Enamel and Oil Pastel on Canvas
Contemporary Expressive, Wildlife, Power
The leopard has incredible hunting skills, scouring the land, trees and even the water. It’s a good thing too when their survival is increasingly at stake. With their prey becoming scarce due to the trade in bushmeat, their habitat disappearing with the ever encroaching humans and their fur being draped across the backs of rich people, the leopard however will not lie down. There’s a powerful energy in the leopard that is not easily extinguished.
In this highly expressive and passionate style Gillie and Marc have let their emotions run free in this explosive collection of freehand painting. Inspired by the styles of Brett Whiteley, Francis Bacon, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gillie and Marc have combined enamel paint with oil pastel to breathe life into the worlds most endangered species. Over the past five years, Gillie and Marc spent hours sketching and studying wildlife, travelling the globe to meet these animals up close. These sketches have now been brought to life in vibrant colour with love and passion. Each painting is created as a team with both the artists bringing their own emotion into every painting.
Please note: All canvases come stretched and ready to hang, however if you would like your painting to be framed, Gillie and Marc are happy to provide this service for you at your request. For framing enquiries please email us.
It is important to keep your painting out of direct sunlight and not to lean anything against the surface of the canvas. If it gets dusty, it can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
